Establishment of a committee for Norwegian stratigraphy

Abstract

At a meeting of the Norwegian Council of Geology (Norsk geologirAd) on 5 May 1982, a resolution was passed for the establishment of a Committee for Norwegian Stratigraphy - Norsk Stratigrafisk Komite (NSK) - which will operate under the Council’s auspices and ultimate control. At a statutory general meeting of the committee on 5 January 1983, Anna Siedlecka, Geological Survey of Norway, was voted in as chairwoman with Tore Torske (University of Troms~) as vicechairman.
